This standard specifies the samples, instruments, procedures and result evaluation of internal pressure resistance test of the quartz tube, which is suitable for testing the internal pressure resistance of the quartz tube.
- Internal pressure resistance
The term ‘internal pressure resistance’ is used to describe the hydraulic pressure that is withstand within the quartz tube. The rate of pressure rise can be defined as the value of pressure increase per unit time.
- Principle of test
The hydraulic pressure is applied within the quartz tube, and the resulting internal pressure resistance of the large-diameter quartz tube is obtained according to the value of the applied hydraulic pressure.
- Sample requirements oftest
- The outer diameter of the sample to be tested is limited to a maximum of 30mm, while the length is restricted to a maximum of 1000mm.
- Two endsof the quartz tube to be tested should be devoid of fissures or collapse; moreover, the end surface of the tube must be oriented perpendicular to the tube axis.
- Instrumentsused in test
The measuring range of standard pressure gauges should be sufficient to meet the needs of product testing. As the measuring range less than 10 MPa, the accuracy should be 1.5. As the measuring range being 40 MPa, the accuracy should be 0.4. Furthermore, the utilization of a special sealing fixture is recommended.
- Procedures of test
- Scrubthe sample tube clean with anhydrous ethanol, and set it aside for use after drying it.
- Select appropriateend fixtures suitable for the specification of the tube.
- Installthe sample tube on the hydraulic test device and ensure that both ends of the tube are hermetically sealed.
- Drop the safety shield.
- Activatethe hydraulic pump, make the quartz tube be filled with liquid, and the air within the tube is simultaneously drained.
- The pressure was increased at an external pressure rate of 33kpa/s.
- Result evaluationof test
- In order to qualify the sample, the pressure is elevated to the designated value and maintained for three minutes. If the sample is not damaged during this period, it is deemed qualified.
- In order to ascertain the limit pressure that the sample can bear, the pressure value is increased until the sample is damaged. In this instance, the pressure value represents the maximum pressure value of the sample.
Each sample was evaluated independently, and the resulting test results should not be averaged.
