Our custom threaded quartz reagent bottles are precision-engineered from high-purity fused quartz (JGS2 optical-grade, ≥99.98% SiO₂), delivering exceptional optical transparency from 190 nm through 2,500 nm – far surpassing borosilicate glass which cuts off below 290 nm. The quartz body exhibits outstanding chemical resistance to acids (HCl, H₂SO₄, HNO₃), bases (NaOH, KOH), and organic solvents (acetone, ethanol, toluene, DMSO), and withstands continuous operation up to 1,100 °C.
The PTFE (Teflon) screw cap provides a chemically inert, leak-proof seal that prevents evaporation of volatile solvents and protects air-sensitive samples. The threaded closure allows secure inversion mixing, sample transport between workstations, and use in automated systems without risk of spillage. Unlike borosilicate glass which leaches sodium, boron, and aluminum at 1–100 ppb levels, fused quartz contributes virtually nothing measurable to stored samples – making these bottles ideal for sub-ppb trace metal analysis by ICP-MS or ICP-OES.
Applications include trace-metal sample storage, UV-Vis and NIR spectroscopic measurement, chemical synthesis and reaction vessels, pharmaceutical R&D, environmental water and soil analysis, fluorescence studies, and semiconductor wet-chemistry processing.
